Success starts with an opportunity!

Allens journey in the aviation industry is a testament to how seizing opportunities and being open to learning can lead to a successful career. Starting with little aviation experience at the Cessna Aircraft Company in San Antonio, Texas, he began in line service, where he gained valuable hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals. This foundational knowledge helped him advance to the Parts Department, where he deepened his understanding of the mechanical aspect of aviation.
After five years, his dedication and growing expertise led to a position in Scheduling, allowing him to interact directly with key figures in the aviation industry, such as Aircraft Owners, Directors of Aviation, and Pilots. This role, heavily focused on customer service, honed his skills in communication and relationship management, eventually paving the way for his transition into sales.
With no prior sales experience, Allen Reid was mentored by Stan Younger, who became a trusted mentor, coach, and friend throughout his career. After 18 years at Cessna, Allen seized a new opportunity to further his aviation career by becoming an aircraft broker for Guy Adams, the owner of Global Jet Aviation. Over the course of 10 years at Global Jet, Allen sold a variety of industry-leading business jets and eventually became a 50% owner of the company, proudly contributing to the 40-year legacy that Mr. Adams had established.
Allens decision to create AR Aviation Jets marked the beginning of a new chapter in his aviation career, one where he could build his own legacy. Drawing from his 27 years of experience and the support of those who believed in him, his brand reflects the values and lessons learned over his journey. Allen believes that "luck is when preparation meets opportunity."
Allen lives in San Antonio with his wife, Laura, and his two sons, Bradley and Lance. On most fall nights, Allen can be found cheering on his boys at high school football games or enjoying the great outdoors. His love and his passions are his family, his faith, the outdoors, and of course, aircraft.
To this day, he credits his career in the aircraft industry to that one day when he was brave enough to ask for an opportunity. He often refers to the turtle at the top of a pole, knowing the only way he made it to the top was by the hands of others. Therefore, he lives his life paying it forward. He now strives to create opportunities for others.
That's why he says, success starts with an opportunity!
